In May 2005, John Hand IV and Debra Brown formed Azoutreach, Inc., a nonprofit organization that seeks to increase civic activism, promote grassroots social action, and support local enterprise. In September 2005, the co-founders began developing a social networking website that would help them accomplish their organizational goals. In October 2006, the founders created Syzygic, LLC which maintains the Azoutreach commitment to combating community deterioration and embodies the Azoutreach vision of becoming the central hub through which all civic society is connected.

Intextmessage is a social networking system that uses information technology services such as the Web and SMS/MMS text messaging to enable businesses, organizations, and individuals to build and maintain social capital by increasing the speed and effectiveness with which they communicate with one another.
